Health and Safety

To make sure that model won’t have any allergic reactions to any adhesives or unusual products being used i have performed a patch test. Usually these will be performed 24-48 hours beforehand to give ample time for an allergic reaction to occur. My model had a reaction to pros-aid but no other product so i will make sure to not use this in this application of makeup or any after i may do.

Before any application of makeup and hair styling i also need to identify the models skin type and hair type, this is to make sure i’m using the appropriate products that wont damage either their skin or hair. As well as this i should ask about any pre-existing hair or skin conditions that may hinder the application or styling process, this should also be known so that i can cater directly for the model in what their hair or skin may need.

On the day of application i will sanitize the area the makeup will be applied as well as thoroughly wash my hands so no germs or illness can be spread (such as COVID-19). To furthermore ensure no germs or illness is spread i will wear both a mask and a visor.

In order to make sure nothing happens with any chemicals i’ll follow COSHH and make sure the workspace i’m in is well ventilated and that any chemicals being used are put away properly and aren’t left near any sort of heat source.

For the removal of the makeup i will use the appropriate removers such as hydro oil for the latex a makeup remover for the water based paints.
